In a nut shell

Now I know I haven't been the best at keeping up on this blog but I am going to change that! A lot has happened in the months passed... I got bigger, I had a baby shower, Ryan and I had baby and now that little bundle of joy is already 7 week young!

The last few weeks have been hard, joyful, beautiful, sad and stressful. They have tested every bit of me and Ryan who we are and what we think we can manage. Ryan and I have been through the joys of our baby girl being born, been tested as parents when we found ourselves spending a week in the hospital with her at only a two weeks old and we have been hit with the reality that when a new life is born a well lived life can become very ill. Our little family has become just that a family. We are all connected to one another in such a way that we will do anything for one another.

How crazy to think that we are parents now and Alice lets us know daily how amazing it feels to be parents. She is the love of our lives <3

12 weeks

12 weeks… It is so amazing how time just goes by with in the blink of an eye. It was just a short 4 weeks ago Ryan and I got to see our little pumpkin with developing arms and legs and now look where we are. Full arms, full legs… it is actually starting to look like an actual baby instead of a blob.
Things have been well, adjusting to the idea of BABY has finally taken hold of our lives and everything seems to be turning upside down… in a good way. Getting the room ready is going to be our toughest challenge but we are up for it. Cleaning, painting, decoration… this kid is already costing us a small fortune! Don’t be surprised if some of you get a call soon asking how your painting skills are!
But seriously, the overwhelming support from our family and friends is comforting and I know that not only are we loved but this child, our child could possibly be the most loved child in the world!

8 weeks

It's was so hard waiting 2 weeks to be able to see another ultrasound but we made it! Able to see the baby better they have given me a final due date of September 7th, 2011 (sorry Nic... less chance of a birthday buddy and sorry Shingy... another September Birthday!) Our little one is said to be the size of a raspberry but growing more and more each day!!!

That little flicker you see... that would be the heart beat <3

day by day I get even more excited  for what is coming our way even if I complain about the feeling sick and feeling tired... it's all part of the experience... right?

The Beginning

I’m not one for jotting down words to express the happenings of day to day life but I recently found myself obsessed with the idea of blogging the progress of the next great adventure in the life of Ryan and I.

As most, if not all, of you know already Ryan and I got married in May 2010 and couldn’t have asked for a more beautiful day. Enjoying our newly married life we soon found ourselves entering a new chapter in life…
The sickness, the extreme tiredness (which Ryan claims is an everyday Rachel thing), the moodiness… (Not to mention 2 home tests later) it all made sense… I was pregnant! We are having a BABY!

After the initial shock wore off it was only a matter of time before we had to already start making decisions. Who do we tell? When do we tell? Can I really keep it a secret from my Mom? From your Mom? Well I have to tell my sister… your sister… scared to tell my Dad? Me too.  This went on for a day or so before we decided: We tell family ONLY and wait 2 weeks to tell everyone else! But of course that didn’t last long… at all. Family was told but soon friends would start questioning, why isn’t Rachel drinking? So it was on. Phone calls every night until we called everyone on our list and still it’s amazing how many more people you think of that you should call.

So now here we are 7 weeks into our 40 week journey and it’s all brought to reality with one little flicker of the heart <3
